Pre-University Programme

This programme is designed for those who wish to enter one of the faculties at the MSU or to prepare themselves for undergraduate or postgraduate studies. The programme includes:

• General Russian Language course;
• Russian for Academic Purposes course;
• Courses for subjects in the humanities and sciences.

Class sizes are kept small. Groups consist of no more than 10 students in the Russian language classes and no more than 20 students in the classes in other subjects. Academic curriculum includes lessons five days a week, 6-8 academic hours per day. The course could be one academic year (two semesters) or one and a half academic years (three semesters). At the end of academic year the students take exams in Russian and subjects of their specialization. After passing the course examinations, students receive corresponding certificates. These allow them to enroll in one of the main faculties of the MSU according to their specialization.

• 2023–2024 academic year

  One-year programme:

  • Duration of study: September/October 2023 – July 2024.
  • Acceptance of applications for study: until July 15, 2023.
  • Start date: September – October.
  • Exams: June 2024.
  • Tuition: 43 500 CNY.
  • Payments should be made as follows (all payments in Russia  are made in rubles in accordance with the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation):
    29 000 CNY – September 2023;
    14 500 CNY – February 2024.
  • Important! For those who apply for the Pre-University programme to prepare for the undergraduate studies it is necessary to attach the copy of the high school diploma with the transcript (along with the application form and a copy of the passport).
  • The level of Russian: All levels.

  Expanded programme:

  • Duration of study: March 2024 – July 2025.
  • Acceptance of applications for studying is carried out until 1 December 2023.
  • Holidays: July – August 2024.
  • Start date: 1 March – 30 March 2024.
  • Exams: June 2025.
  • Tuition: 57 275 CNY.
  • Payments should be made as follows (all payments in Russia  are made in rubles in accordance with the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation):
    42 775 CNY – March 2024;
    14 500 CNY – February 2025.

  • The level of Russian: Beginner.

• 2024–2025 academic year

  One-year programme:

  • Duration of study: September/October 2024 – July 2025.
  • Acceptance of applications for study: until July 15, 2024.
  • Start date: September – October.
  • Exams: June 2025.
  • Tuition: 43 500 CNY.
  • Payments should be made as follows (all payments in Russia  are made in rubles in accordance with the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation):
    29 000 CNY – September 2024;
    14 500 CNY – February 2025.
