Japanese spring at the IRLC

 06 march 2018

The beginning of February is the holidays time in Japanese universities and many students come to Russia to study Russian.

This year the IRLC welcomes over 30 students from the universities of Sapporo, Tokai, Keyo and from the Universities of foreign languages of Tokyo and Kobe. These students will spend one month in Russia improving their speaking skills, diving into Russian culture, visiting different cities and fining new friends.

First week has been fruitful. On March, 2 Japanese students met Russian peers from the MSU Japanese Club. After brief introduction at the institute new friends went to the cafe to continue communication informally.

On the first weekend all Japanese students went on a traditional trip to Tver to participate in the joint programme of IRLC and Tver State University "Travelling to Russia". Students visited Tver Everyday Life Museum, participated in traditional Russian tea ceremony, learned how to dance quadrille, played traditional Russian games, and the most important part - found new Russian friends from Tver State University who organized a sightseeing tour around Tver center.

The programme has just begun but students are full of good impressions and they are waiting for new encounters, excursions and trips. More to come!
