International regional conference "Russian language in the Southeast Asian countries"

International regional conference on Russian language "Russian language in the Southeast Asian countries" took place in Hanoi on 15-16 December 2016. This conference was organized with the support of International Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers (MAPRYAL), Russian Embassy in Vietnam, official and business structures in Russia and Vietnam.

Over 200 Russian language specialist participated in the conference, including chairmen of national associations of Russian language, teachers of Russian language in the leading Russian universities, teachers of Russian language from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Kingdom of Cambodia. The conference proved to be unprecedented judging by its scale and the scope of the questions discussed.

Lomonosov Moscow State University was presented by A.N.Bogomolov, full PhD, professor of the MSU Philology Department, and M.M.Nakhabina, PhD, associate professor of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture MSU.
Professor Bogomolov held the session dedicated to the state of Russian language in modern Russia and its reflection in the education, he supervised the round table on the issues of preparing Russian language teachers and presented his report on novelties in the system of Russian language testing for foreigners.

Associate professor Nakhabina presented the new approaches to creating a Russian language manual.
Moreover, the participants discussed problems of teaching Russian language in East Asian countries, lack of teachers, especially native speakers, and the prospects of teaching Russian language at schools starting from the 3rd grade.
